Junior Chefs Camp: Mastering the Basics

Hands-On Classes (grades 4-6)

Young chefs will be eating well this week while gaining confidence learning how to prepare their favorite dishes. Chef Zebbie is the perfect instructor for teaching young sous chefs culinary skills while having fun in the kitchen. This week will encourage campers to cook at home with their binders of fantastic recipes to share with family and friends!

Menu for the Week

Monday: All About Eggs: Eggs Benedict, Individual Omelets, Deviled Eggs, and Crème Brûlée

Tuesday: All About Chicken: Classic Roast Chicken, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and Chicken Piccata

Wednesday: All About Vegetables: Roasted Root Vegetables, Cauliflower Fried Rice, Italian Chopped Salad, and Lemon-Garlic Zoodles

Thursday: Potatoes, Pasta, and Rice: Twice-Baked Loaded Potatoes, Rice Pilaf, Creamy Rigatoni with Italian Sausage, Rice Pudding, and Tortellini Salad

Friday: All about Chocolate: Chocolate Mousse, Old-Fashioned Chocolate Buttermilk Cake, Chocolate Truffle Mice, Decadent Chocolate Cheesecake, and Quadruple Chocolate Cookies

About Zebbie Borland

Zebbie Borland has been on the DLM School of Cooking team as a kitchen assistant since 1990. She has taught our Kids' classes since 1998. She loves food and people of all ages. Her specialties are cheesecakes, children's parties, and growing and cooking herbs. Zebbie holds a B.S. in Business and earned her teaching certification from Miami University.
