Petite Chef Camp: Now We're Cooking!

Hands-On Classes (grades 1-3)

Our hands-on Petite Chefs’ Cooking Camp with Zebbie Borland is a weeklong camp for beginning cooks. Each day we’ll tie on our aprons and get busy preparing menus ideal for young chefs. Students will learn basic skills like chopping, mixing, sautéing, and beginner baking techniques. Monday we’ll cook up a yummy breakfast, Tuesday's theme is tropical Hawaii, Wednesday is everyone’s favorite—Mexican, and Thursday and Friday's menus are fresh and seasonal for enjoying all summer long.

Hands-On Classes (grades 4-6)

Junior Chefs will enjoy preparing ingredients and cooking along with Zebbie Borland in this weeklong camp. Bring your appetite, grab a spatula, and join the fun as we create recipes designed for young foodies! Each day features a balanced menu that will help build a foundation for several different cooking and baking techniques and skills. We’ll start off Monday with a delicious breakfast and follow with four days of dinner menus you’ll want to replicate at home all summer long.

Perfect for young cooks, this hands-on class with Zebbie Borland brings a picnic to life with fun, kid-friendly favorites. Petite chefs will help prepare Tadpoles in a Hole, Caterpillar Pasta Salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing, and Ladybug Cupcakes, finishing with Bug Juice. A lighthearted experience designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and make cooking fun.

The class wraps up with rich, Chocolaty Bar Cookies for a sweet finish. A playful, engaging experience that builds confidence and creativity in the kitchen.

About Private Events

Culinary Center Class Cancellation & Registration Policy

Culinary Center class registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund, with proper notification. Cancellations made with notification after the 7-day deadline are eligible for credit toward future culinary class registrations if notification is given prior to the day of a class. If you are unable to attend any class, you are welcome to send a substitute in your place. To give proper notifications for a cancellation or notice of a substitution, please contact the culinary center location where your class is taking place. Any no-call, no-show participants forfeit refunds or class credits. The DLM Culinary Center reserves the right to cancel a class, when necessary, due to inclement weather, emergencies, or insufficient enrollment, and may also substitute instructors or food items when required. In the event that a class is cancelled, registered students will receive a full refund or credit, as applicable.
