About Harriet Argue

Harriet Argue was the owner of Truffles Café and Catering. She was also involved in menu development and catering at Madison's Bistro and Mediterra. We welcome her back to Dorothy Lane's Culinary Center to share her expertise with Greek Cuisine. Moving here from Los Angeles from a large Greek family, she started a California Deli Café. Her restaurants were known for their quality food, and innovative menus. Harriet was in the catering and restaurant business for over 30 years. She has taught cooking classes in the Dayton area for many years.

Join Harriet Argue for a vibrant culinary journey through the Mediterranean with this crowd-pleasing menu perfect for summer entertaining. We'll begin with a timeless appetizer of Baked Feta and Tomatoes, served alongside crisp Garlic Toast for scooping up the warm, melty cheese and juicy tomatoes. Grilled Pork Kebabs and Vegetables will be marinated and charred to perfection. You'll enjoy Orzo Pasta Salad with bright notes, and Greek Green Beans simmered with tomatoes and herbs. For a simple, yet elegant dessert, the season's star fruit, peaches, will be grilled, topped with creamy Greek Yogurt, and drizzled with Honey. This menu will be paired with wine.

An impressive appetizer of buttery Brie wrapped in Phyllo, baked until golden and crispy, and topped with sweet Fig Jam is simply irresistible. Harriet will show you a Greek spin on Paella, incorporating Greek herbs, spices, seafood, and meats, commonly found in imitable Greek cookingA summery Watermelon Feta Salad provides a perfect contrast of sweet, salty, and herbaceous notes. Phyllo cups filled with velvety Banana Custard will be a spectacular finish to the meal that will be paired with wine.
