About Harriet Argue

Harriet Argue was the owner of Truffles Café and Catering. She was also involved in menu development and catering at Madison's Bistro and Mediterra. We welcome her back to Dorothy Lane's Culinary Center to share her expertise with Greek Cuisine. Moving here from Los Angeles from a large Greek family, she started a California Deli Café. Her restaurants were known for their quality food, and innovative menus. Harriet was in the catering and restaurant business for over 30 years. She has taught cooking classes in the Dayton area for many years.

Harriet's Favorites from the Mediterranean

Wednesday, February 28 | 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. | $90

Harriet Argue will share a few of her favorite recipes and explain how you can recreate them at home. You'll enjoy a fresh Spinach and Kalamata Olive Tart with a glass of Greek wine. Kreatopita is a savory Greek pie made with crunchy layers of golden, buttery phyllo sandwiched between a Ground Beef Stew Filling. Alongside will be a fresh Arugula Bean Salad. And for a sweet, buttery dessert—Turkish Kataifi Baklava scented with ground clove and cinnamon, wrapped with kataifi dough, and bathed in lemon syrup. This menu will be paired with wine.

When it comes to flavorful and nutritive cuisine, we look to the Mediterranean diet. Paired with the month of May which has the goods with fresh herbs and vegetables, glorious warm weather, and sunny skies. Join Harriet Argue this evening for a spectacular meal beginning with Mediterranean Crudité. A light and flavorful soup with creamy Cannellini Beans and Spinach is a welcome second course. Beef Kapama with rich warm spices will be delicious served with Orzo Pasta and a spot-on red wine pairing. A crisp Peasant Salad and Chocolate Yogurt Cake with Chocolate Glaze will complete the meal. This menu will be paired with wine.
