Burlap & Barrel sources their Black Urfa Chili from around the ancient Turkish city of Urfa. After harvesting, it's cured in the sun where it changes from red to black and develops its characteristic flavor profile or raisin, espresso, chocolate, and dried fruit. It is then stone ground into flakes with a little bit of sea salt and oil. May we suggest using this seasoning on kebabs, chicken, beef, lamb, hummus, brownies, pasta, roasted vegetables, or eggs. In southeastern Turkey, you will find black Urfa chili on almost every table.
