Petite Chefs' Baking Camp

Hands-on Petite Chefs' Baking Camp (grades 1-3) Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:30AM

Beginner bakers will enjoy learning the basics for creating these no-fail recipes from America's Test Kitchen's book The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs. With Zebbie's expert guidance, students will explore the fun hobby of creative baking. These recipes are simple to follow, and consist of many worthwhile techniques. Each day is designed to focus on a particular skill, giving your junior baker the knowledge and skill set to take on a number of baking tasks once the week is over. Young chefs will enjoy creating three recipes each day consisting of savory and sweet selections that they'll be confident recreating at home.

Menu for the Week

  • Monday: Doughnut Holes, Spiced Applesauce Muffins, and Simple Cream Scones
  • Tuesday: Almost No-Knead Bread, Fluffy Dinner Rolls, and Mini Beef & Cheese Empanadas
  • Wednesday: Mexican Wedding Cookies, Chewy Brownies, and Gingerbread People
  • Thursday: Berry Snack Cake, Yellow Sheet Cake with Chocolate Frosting, and Confetti Layer Birthday Cake
  • Friday: Blueberry Cobbler, Free-Form Summer Tart, and S'more Banana Boats

About Zebbie Borland

Zebbie Borland has been on the DLM School of Cooking team as a kitchen assistant since 1990. She has taught our Kids' classes since 1998. She loves food and people of all ages. Her specialties are cheesecakes, children's parties, and growing and cooking herbs. Zebbie holds a B.S. in Business and earned her teaching certification from Miami University.
