Tip: When taking the preserves out to use, make sure to put back in fridge as soon as possible after each use for the longest storage time. (About 2-3 weeks refrigerated shelf life).

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pt fresh strawberries (about 1-lb container)
  • cups sugar
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

INSTRUCTIONS

1
Wash the strawberries and hull them, removing caps and stems.
2
Chop the strawberries and put them in a medium stainless steel saucepan. Add the sugar and place the pan over medium-low heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and add the lemon juice. Keep the mixture at a steady boil for about 20-25 minutes, or until the jam reaches 220°F on a candy thermometer.
3
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Place in preferred container, cover, and refrigerate.
