Hatch Chile Country Gravy

Take this homemade gravy with a Hatch twist to the next level by adding crumbled DLM Breakfast Sausage, chorizo, or shredded cheese. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup roasted Hatch Chiles, diced

INSTRUCTIONS

In a small sauce pan, heat butter over medium heat and sauté onions until soft. Sprinkle in flour and stir until a roux forms.

Slowly add milk, whisking to combine. Bring to a low boil, lower the heat, and let simmer for a couple of minutes.

Add the diced Hatch Chiles and season to taste with salt and pepper. Excellent served over biscuits.
