Itinerary Summary


Day 1: Bonjour! Arrival in Bordeaux

Monday, May 11

Welcome! There will be only one transfer provided by shuttle from the Bordeaux Airport to the first 5-star hotel in Bordeaux. You must arrive at the Bordeaux Airport by 12:30 p.m. local time for this service. If you arrive outside of that window or at a different location, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to the hotel (approximately a 20-minute drive time). You’ll stay for three nights at the first hotel in Bordeaux, which is located in an 18th-century building that’s been restored with modern amenities. Be sure to time your arrival so that you have ample time to settle in before our first group dinner, which will include a visit to a restaurant led by a Michelin-starred chef, featuring locally sourced ingredients and seasonal flavors.


Day 2: Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion

Tuesday, May 12

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll travel with the group to a lovely family estate winery for an unforgettable experience that combines a visit to the winery estate as well as a hands-on cooking class that’s sure to delight anyone who loves good food and great wine. After working with a chef to prepare the meal, you’ll be able to sit down and relax to enjoy it as a guide makes the meal extra special with both stories and wine pairings. Afterwards, you’ll have time to explore the medieval village of Saint-Emilion prior to returning to the hotel where the evening is yours to enjoy and explore.


Day 3: Bordeaux, Médoc

Wednesday, May 13

You’ll travel with the group along what is known as the “château route,” a picturesque drive through Médoc’s iconic vineyards, giving you a glimpse of many winemaking estates along the way to your destination—a winery and château for a visit and tasting lunch at this estate rich in history and charm. Then, settle back at the hotel for the evening and enjoy dinner on your own.


Day 4: Bordeaux, Trémolat

Thursday, May 14

Kick off your day with a guided walking tour that will immerse you in the vibrant culture and rich history of the region! Delight your taste buds as you sample unique local delicacies along the way to ignite your senses! Your departure from the hotel will occur after the walking tour. Following this, venture to a new luxurious and charming 4-star hotel known for its renowned Michelin-starred restaurant. Finally, end the night indulging in , regional cuisine bistro style.


Day 5: Dordogne

Friday, May 15

Enjoy a day full of exploring the new premier hotel and the rich surrounding region, from historical sites and outdoor activities to relaxing at the hotel's spa and wellness center. In the evening, indulge in an exceptional dining experience at the hotel's world-renowned Michelin-starred restaurant. With a menu full of experimental and traditional cuisine, only the finest regional ingredients and precise cooking methods are used to prepare your unforgettable meal.


Day 6: Dordogne, Sarlat, Bordeaux

Saturday, May 16

Start your day on a medieval adventure through Sarlat, a town renowned for its beautiful golden sandstone architecture and incredible historical landmarks. A perfect place for anyone seeking full indulgence in the region's vast history. You’ll also get to flood your senses with a visit to the esteemed Sarlat market stocked full of fresh regional produce and delicacies. Enjoy an unforgettable lunch in a medieval village at a restaurant that invites you to explore the wide variety of regional cuisines prepared with top-of-the-line ingredients and artistic plating techniques. Your departure from the hotel will occur after the return of lunch. After lunch, you’ll depart the hotel and return to Bordeaux and your next boutique lodging. The evening is yours to explore the city and dine on your own.


Day 7: Bordeaux, Arcachon

Sunday, May 17

Enjoy an exclusive private boat tour to explore the stunning Arcachon Bay, which is rich in sights to see. Along the way, you will enjoy an exceptional tasting of fresh oysters paired with local wine. Lunch will be served at a spectacular restaurant and bar that features fresh seafood and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, take time to explore the beautiful, lush pine forests and discover the famous national treasure Dune du Pilat, known for being a dynamic wonder of nature. Finally, conclude your evening back at your relaxing hotel where you are free to explore the city and dine on your own.


Day 8: Bordeaux, Sauternes

Monday, May 18

Embark on a truffle adventure as you wander and hunt through an orchard of beautiful truffles. Following the hunt, indulge in a tasting of unique truffle pairings and local wines of the region. After your truffle excursion, take part in a gourmet lunch experience. The menu consists of elegant ingredients with a modern flare. The atmosphere is very welcoming making for a very comfortable dining experience. Following lunch, transportation will be provided back to the hotel. This evening, our final group dinner will be held at a fantastic local gastronomic restaurant.


Day 9: Departure, Bordeaux

Tuesday, May 19

Au revoir! It’s been a magnificent trip, but the Food Tour has come to a close. Breakfast will be available at the hotel prior to check-out. There will be a single transfer time by shuttle to the airport offered this morning at a time that is to be determined.

“I am as much a product of the area’s unique terroir as the local wines,” says Élodie, who has always found herself always immersed in the food & wine business. Her grandfather spent his life in the business, her brother manages a chateau, she has a wine merchant cousin, and she spent over a decade in the gourmet food business before returning to her roots in Bordeaux.
