In addition to its stunning scenery and breathtaking coastlines, Sicily also has incredibly fertile soil, making it a top wine producing region in Italy. Itinerary Summary


Day 1: Palermo

Saturday, June 7

Welcome! After you settle in to the hotel in Palermo, where you’ll stay for three nights, there will be time to explore prior to a welcome dinner at a phenomenal restaurant at 8 p.m.


Day 2: Palermo

Sunday, June 8

Sicily’s history offers a window into its culture and cuisine. After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to embark on a guided tour of Palermo, exploring the Norman & Arabic influences that are woven into the city’s culture and history. The tour will take you to features throughout the city, including a local market with a stop for a unique street food-style lunch. Afterward, you are free to explore the city and dine on your own.


Day 3: Palermo

Monday, June 9

Breakfast at the hotel will be provided before embarking on an exclusive visit to an artisanal ceramic workshop in Palermo, a destination for art lovers that is known for producing rare pieces. Afterward, there will be additional free time to soak in Palermo and lunch on your own. For dinner, savor a modern take on Sicilian dining at a trending restaurant rich with ambiance.


Day 4: Palermo, Calascibetta, Siracusa

Tuesday, June 10

Artisan experiences await! After breakfast at the hotel, luggage will be collected and you’ll travel to a family-owned sheep’s milk cheese producer just outside of Calascibetta to enjoy a visit and tasting lunch. The journey then continues to the historic coastal city of Siracusa, rich with Greek influences, where you’ll check in to a 5-star boutique hotel for a two-night stay. You’ll have time on your own to explore the city and enjoy dinner on your own.


Day 5: Siracusa

Wednesday, June 11

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a guided tour of Siracusa. As the tour nears the heart of the city, you’re in for a truly special lunch rich with mediterranean flavors intertwined with unique oriental influences, giving you a taste of Sicily, the land of sea and sun. Afterward, you’ll have time to continue exploring this breathtaking city, including dinner on your own.


Day 6: Siracusa, Modica, Frigintini, Niscemi

Thursday, June 12

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel prior to checking out and traveling to Modica, a city renowned for its architecture. You’ll then visit one of the oldest chocolate producers in Italy for a tasting and tour with the sixth-generation artisan confectioners. This sweet theme for the day will continue as the group travels to Frigintini for a unique chocolate lunch. After the day’s activities, you’ll continue the journey to Niscemi to unwind in the hillside splendor at a unique resort winery. Located in a restored 18th century manor house, the baglio, or fortified estate, is situated atop a hill with stunning views and grape vines that line the hillside. Here, you’ll enjoy a visit to the winery and a tasting dinner before an overnight stay at the estate.


Day 7: Niscemi, Castelvetrano, Trapani

Friday, June 13

After departing Niscemi, you’ll travel seemingly back in time to Castelvetrano, a city that dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries. It is here that a tasting lunch and visit at a special bakery awaits, where you’ll learn about the typical pane nero of Castelvetrano. Afterward, you’ll travel to the seaside city of Trapani and check in to a modern hotel for a three-night stay, prior to enjoying a group dinner.


Day 8: Trapani, Erice, Trapani

Saturday, June 14

A hands-on cooking adventure awaits, but first you’ll travel to the medieval village of Erice, a city with ancient origins that offers breathtaking views and a storied architectural footprint. You’ll enjoy free time in this hilltop city with plenty to explore, but you’d be amiss if you didn’t stop into a bakery or two along the way. Later in the day, get ready to roll up your sleeves and work with a professional chef for a hands-on cooking class dinner, centered around preparing a traditional Sicilian meal.


Day 9: Trapani, Marsala, Trapani

Sunday, June 15

Marsala is a city renowned for its wine that sits on the westernmost tip of Sicily. We’ll venture here to marvel at the sight of the bright white salt flats, which will be explained with a visit to the museum. From there, you’ll head to a winery for a visit and tasting lunch. Guests will then be transported back to the hotel to enjoy the evening in Trapani on their own.


Day 10: Trapani, Fulgatore, Palermo

Monday, June 16

After breakfast at the hotel, luggage will be collected and we’ll travel to Fulgatore to soak in the last full day in Sicily. It is here you’ll visit a Sicilian olive oil producer for a visit and a tasting lunch. After this experience, we’ll travel back to Palermo, closer to the airport, to stay the night. You’ll have free time prior to a final group dinner.


Day 11: Palermo

Tuesday, June 17

It’s been a magnificent trip, but your time in Sicily with the Food Tour has come to a close. Breakfast will be available at the hotel prior to check-out.
