Young Chefs' Hands-On Class (Ages 11 & up)
Learn to make homemade apple pie! With Mary Cooney's guidance, students will focus on the basics of making tender, flaky pie pastry, including how to mix, roll, bake, and variations for fluting. You'll learn to peel and slice apples for making delicious fresh apple filling. Mary will teach students step-by-step tips and techniques for making a ready-to-bake mini pie to take home. Light snacks, apple pie, and ice cream will be served.
Mary Cooney is a first-generation Italian-American who has a passion for teaching that is hard to equal. She loves to share her knowledge of authentic Italian dishes as well as baking pies and desserts. She has been on staff at the SOC since 2005.View Other Classes
