Orders placed by 3:00 PM Monday through Wednesday qualify for same-day shipping, provided our expert packing team determines your order can arrive safely. Orders containing perishable items placed Thursday through Sunday are typically fulfilled and shipped the following Monday. Orders containing non-perishable items, spa gifts or kitchen items placed on Thursdays before 3:00pm will be shipped on the same day. During the warmer weather, we do not ship on Fridays.
A note on warm weather shipping and perishable food safety: Dorothy Lane Market rigorously tests and continuously improves our warm weather packaging to ensure your gourmet food arrives fresh and safe. Our insulated packaging, ice packs, and dry ice are designed to maintain safe temperatures for up to 48 hours — which is why all perishable food gifts must be delivered within 2 days of leaving our Dayton, Ohio fulfillment center. Non-perishable and shelf-stable items — including pantry goods, coffees, teas, and baked goods — ship on a standard schedule without temperature restrictions.
Many of our perishable food items must arrive within 2 days of leaving our fulfillment facility to ensure they stay fresh, safe, and high‑quality. Because of this, some orders cannot be sent using standard ground shipping.
If the delivery address is outside the UPS Ground 1–2 Day delivery range from Ohio, the order will automatically require UPS 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air to maintain proper temperature control during transit.
Most addresses within Ohio can receive shipments via ground within one business day, and many locations throughout the Midwest are reachable within two business days via ground service. In those regions, ground shipping remains an option for qualifying items.
