  • Delivery Timeline: Orders typically arrive within 1–5 business days after leaving our facility.
  • The Ohio Advantage: Because we ship from Dayton, Ohio, Ground orders traveling within Ohio arrive in 1 business day. Much of the Midwest and East Coast can expect delivery within 2 business days via Ground.
  • Is it Guaranteed? No. While UPS Ground is highly reliable (98% on time delivery), the delivery date is an estimate and not guaranteed.

  • Delivery Timeline: Generally delivered within 2 business days of leaving our facility in Ohio.

• What are the cut-off times for same-day shipping on gourmet food orders?

  Orders placed by 3:00 PM Monday through Wednesday qualify for same-day shipping, provided our expert packing team determines your order can arrive safely. Orders containing perishable items placed Thursday through Sunday are typically fulfilled and shipped the following Monday.  Orders containing non-perishable items, spa gifts or kitchen items placed on Thursdays before 3:00pm will be shipped on the same day.  During the warmer weather, we do not ship on Fridays.  

  A note on warm weather shipping and perishable food safety: Dorothy Lane Market rigorously tests and continuously improves our warm weather packaging to ensure your gourmet food arrives fresh and safe. Our insulated packaging, ice packs, and dry ice are designed to maintain safe temperatures for up to 48 hours — which is why all perishable food gifts must be delivered within 2 days of leaving our Dayton, Ohio fulfillment center. Non-perishable and shelf-stable items — including pantry goods, coffees, teas, and baked goods — ship on a standard schedule without temperature restrictions.

• Why can’t I ship my gourmet order via ground shipping?

  Many of our perishable food items must arrive within 2 days of leaving our fulfillment facility to ensure they stay fresh, safe, and high‑quality. Because of this, some orders cannot be sent using standard ground shipping.

  If the delivery address is outside the UPS Ground 1–2 Day delivery range from Ohio, the order will automatically require UPS 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air to maintain proper temperature control during transit.

  Most addresses within Ohio can receive shipments via ground within one business day, and many locations throughout the Midwest are reachable within two business days via ground service. In those regions, ground shipping remains an option for qualifying items.

  To protect the integrity of our gourmet foods, we only offer shipping methods that guarantee the product arrives fresh, delicious, and ready to enjoy.

• How do I select a future arrival date at checkout?

  To schedule a future arrival date for your DorothyLane.com order, please log in or create an account before checking out. Creating an account ensures your address information is saved, your email is verified, and your delivery preferences—including arrival dates—are easy to manage.

  Once you reach the Shipping Page, choose an existing saved address or click “Add a new address.”

  • If you do not select a delivery date, your order will ship as soon as possible (ASAP).
  • To schedule a future delivery, select “Select Arrival Date.” A calendar will appear, allowing you to pick your preferred arrival date.

  Please note that some dates may be unavailable, especially during warmer months. This is because certain perishable items must arrive within 2 business days of leaving our fulfillment center to ensure optimal freshness. For example, a chicken pot pie shipped in July to an address outside Ohio—or to a business—must ship on a Monday so it won’t sit in a UPS warehouse over a weekend.

  We allow customers to choose a future arrival date up to 3 months in advance, making it easy to plan gifts, celebrations, and time‑sensitive deliveries.
