Celery Root Salad

As we make our picnicking plans, this French-inspired dish is one of our go-tos when dining al fresco.


1 lb celery root

2 Tbsp lemon juice

4 oz crème fraîche, plain yogurt, or mayonnaise

½ cup DLM Dijon Vinaigrette

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup celery, chopped

½ cup black currants

Handful of parsley, chopped

Celery leaves for garnish


Peel and julienne the celery root. Place in a bowl of cold water mixed with lemon juice and let stand for 5 minutes to refresh. Drain.

In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche and dressing together, seasoning to taste with salt and pepper. Add the julienned celery root, chopped celery, currants, and parsley. Toss well and adjust seasoning if necessary. Garnish with celery leaves if desired.
