Petite Chefs' Hands-On Class (grades 1-3)
Young chefs will learn the secrets for baking success in this class. These recipes are foolproof and easy to follow. Zebbie will teach three fun recipes from one of her favorite new cookbooks: The Complete Baking Book For Young Chefs, from America's Test Kitchen. Students will enjoy shaping Homemade Soft Pretzel Dough, brush the tops with a water-baking soda mixture and sprinkle with pretzel salt, then bake them to a golden brown. We'll also make Personal Pizzas, with our favorite toppings. For a sweet ending they'll make and bake Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, also known as "earthquakes" because of all the cracks that break through their snow-white surfaces that magically occur while baking.
