Join Elaine Berrios as she works her magic with the sweet side of Latin cooking. Elaine is from Puerto Rico and has been baking since childhood. Elaine has perfected recipes making them distinctly her own. She practices until she gets it perfect and her passion for baking these special desserts is infectious. In this class she'll be creating "My Mother's Cake", a recipe designed for her beloved mom. She'll show us how to make Alfajores, a decadent shortbread cookie with a creamy dulce de leche center and rolled in toasted coconut, and Milhojas ("thousand leaves"), a dessert made with stacked layers of puff pastry filled with Diplomat Cream (light vanilla custard) and guava fruit paste. An appetizer plate will be served in this class.
