Jam-Filled Heart Cookies
These pretty cookies are perfect for Valentine's Day!
Ingredients
1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1/2 cup red, seedless jelly or jam
powdered sugar
heart-shaped cookie cutters one large and one small
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line baking sheets with parchment
paper. Follow the directions on package of cookie dough, and
roll out to a 1/8" thickness. Using your large heart cutter,
cut out an even number of hearts. In only half of these, use
your small heart cutter to cut out the center of the cookie.
Place large cookies on baking sheets. Spoon 1 teaspoon of
jam onto center of cookie. Carefully place remaining hearts
(with cutouts) on top of large hearts with jam. Gently press
edges together. Bake in center of oven for approximately 7
- 9 minutes or until very lightly browned. After cookies are
cool, sprinkle tops, avoiding jam centers, with powdered sugar.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
