You trust us to verify organic certification and, for that reason, we use a produce distributor who specializes in organic produce. If we can't verify that a product is organically grown, we won't sell it as organic.

In the produce department at Dorothy Lane Market, our mission is to offer a wide selection of highest quality, certified organic produce. Following are the beliefs and actions that support our mission:

To be certified organic, a third-party agency must verify organic authenticity to the consumer. Each organic item must be labeled with a certification seal or the name of the certification agency on the label. In the case of bulk items, the box will be labeled. When you see this label, it means:

• No harmful chemicals have been applied for at least three years.
• The farmer and processor have annual certification inspections.
• They have kept detailed records of their practices.
• They use ecologically-friendly methods and substances to improve the soil and control pests.
