Sommeliers

Among the wine- and spirit-friendly stemware collections developed by Riedel is their flagship and award-winning Sommeliers Series, launched in 1973.

Like definitions in a dictionary, each glass in the Sommeliers series gives full expression to specific wines and spirits. Each glass is handmade using the artist’s knowledge and skill.

Over time, the Sommeliers series has evolved and grown, thanks to the ongoing efforts of Georg Riedel and wine and spirits experts around the world with whom he works constantly to develop and fine-tune glass shapes.

The glasses in Riedel's Sommeliers series fall into a number of categories according to the beverage or grape they have been developed for.

Vinum

Riedel's wine glass philosophy is available at popular prices with the Vinum Series.

Vinum, introduced in 1986, was developed to provide grape/wine-related glasses to a wide audience.

The finest-quality, machine-blown glass in lead crystal, thin walled, well balanced and yet robust, Vinum offers the right instrument for many an enjoyable sip.

Ouverture

Ideal for everyday use, Ouverture glasses offer perfectly shaped wine glasses at competitive prices.

As with Riedel's Sommeliers and Vinum series, all Ouverture glasses have the company's hallmark: thin, polished rims. Not only is this elegant and attractive, it is vital to the appreciation of fine wines.

Executed in potash glass rather than lead crystal, and with shorter stems than its sister collections, Ouverture is the wine lover's ultimate value-for-money glass.
