DLM Spreadable Fruit Bars
|1½ cups flour|
|2 cups quick-cooking oats|
|1 tsp salt|
|1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed|
|1 cup unsalted butter|
|1/2 cup nuts, finely chopped, and/or shredded coconut|
|(2) 7.5-oz jars DLM Spreadable 100% Fruit Preserves|
Suggested combinations: Red Raspberry/Almonds, Blueberry/Pecans, Apricot/Hazelnuts, Cherry/Coconut
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, oatmeal, salt, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Cut in all but 2 Tbsp of the butter until well blended (use your hands, if necessary). Reserve 1½ cups of the mixture, and press remaining flour mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan.
Spread fruit over the "crust" in the pan. Top with reserved mixture, sprinkle with nuts or coconut, and press lightly. Dot with remaining 2 Tbsp of butter. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. While still warm, run a sharp knife around the inside of the pan. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
