Whipped Cream (Crème Chantilly)
| 1 cup whipping cream, chilled |
| 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted |
| 1/2 tsp vanilla extract |
Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat the cream until it mounds slightly. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until soft peaks form. Over beating will cause the whipping cream to turn to butter.
Cinnamon or liqueurs, such as Grand Marnier or framboise, may be added for a more complex flavor.
