Chocolate Toffee Squares

35 to 40 salted saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup toasted chopped pecans

Line a jelly-roll pan with aluminum foil; carefully butter the foil. Lay saltines on foil to completely cover the pan. Bring butter and sugar to a boil, and continue to boil for 1 minute. Carefully drizzle butter/sugar mixture over the saltines. Bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes until bubbly. Remove from oven; sprinkle with chips. Let stand several minutes to melt the chocolate, then spread chocolate evenly over the surface. Sprinkle with nuts. Score into squares while still warm. Chill to harden chocolate.Makes 35 to 40 squares
