Easy Applesauce

A winning recipe from DLM's Healthy Alternative Recipe Contest. Submitted by Velma Jordan.

1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled (optional), cored, and thinly sliced
1 tsp water
1/2 tsp cinnamon sugar

Place apple slices in a small microwave-safe bowl and add water. Microwave on high for approximately 5 minutes or until apple slices are soft. Remove from oven. With a fork, mash the apple, add cinnamon sugar, and stir together. Serve applesauce warm or cold.

Note: Recipe may be increased, but use less water proportionally.

For 2 apples, add 1½ tsp water

For 3 apples, add 2 tsp water

For 4 apples, add 1 Tbsp water
