Blueberry Balsamic BBQ Sauce
2 cups fresh blueberries
2/3 cup Aunt Angie's Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
1/2 cup DLM 100% Pure Honey
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
1/3 cup shallots, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp molasses
Salt and pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan, heat the blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Bring to a boil and then lower heat to a simmer. Simmer until the blueberries have released their juices, about 5 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes, Cayenne pepper, shallots, and garlic, and continue to cook over low heat another 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and using a potato masher or an immersion blender purée the sauce into a smooth consistency. Return to a simmer and add the molasses and season to taste with salt and pepper and let cook for 15 more minutes. It will thicken slightly as it cools off.
Serve with or Kurobuta Pork Chops or slather over duBreton Baby Back Ribs.
