Hatch Pepper Apple Cobbler

5-6 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp DLM Apple Cider Vinegar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup flour
2 Tbsp lemon zest, grated
3/4 cup butter
2 Tbsp heavy cream

Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, combine the apples, brown sugar, chiles, vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon salt, allspice, and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg. Toss until apples are uniformly coated. Spoon into a greased 9x9 baking dish and set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, flour, lemon zest, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg; mix well. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in the cream.

Spread over the apple mixture and press firmly. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until brown and bubbly.
