Pear Brie Bites
Adapted from Pillsbury.com, these simple to make pear bites could be served as an appetizer or as a dessert.
1 sheet of puff pastry dough (1/2 of a 17.3 oz pkg), thawed
1 Bartlett pear, peeled and finely chopped (about 1½ cups)
1 Tbsp packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp DLM Cayenne Pepper
1 Tbsp DLM 100% Pure Honey
4 oz Brie cheese, rind removed, cut into 24 1/2-inch chunks
1/3 cup pecans, finely chopped
Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 24 mini-muffin cups with non-stick spray. Unroll dough on work surface. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows to make 24 squares. Gently press squares into mini-muffin cups (dough will not completely cover inside of cup; do not press too much).
In a small bowl, mix pear, brown sugar, pepper, and honey. Place one cheese chunk in each cup. Top with one heaping teaspoon of pear mixture. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake 15–20 minutes or until edges are deep golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from muffin pans. Serve warm.
