Double Chocolate Brownies

These bars freeze beautifully!

3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp water
(1) 12-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water; heat just to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips and the vanilla. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chips and nuts. Spread in a greased 9-inch square pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies test done. Cool completely and cut into squares. If desired, dust cooled brownies with a powdered sugar.
