  • 4 lbs Coleman beef brisket
  • 12 oz ale

  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 3 onions, thinly sliced in rings
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º F. Place brisket in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and top with onions. Combine brown sugar, ale, and chili sauce; pour over meat. Cover and bake for 2 hours or until tender. Remove meat to a serving platter; keep warm. Skim fat from juices; place 1 cup of juices in a saucepan.

Combine flour and water. Slowly stir into reserved pan juices. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until gravy is smooth and thickened. Season if desired.
