Easy Applesauce

A winning recipe from DLM's Healthy Alternative Recipe Contest 1993. Perfect for singles and easy for children. Submitted by Velma Jordan.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled
    (optional), cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon sugar
  • 1 tsp. water

Directions:

Place apple slices in a small microwave-safe bowl and add water. Microwave on high for approximately 5 minutes or until apple slices are soft. Remove from oven. With a fork, mash the apple, add cinnamon sugar and stir together. Serve applesauce warm or cold.

Note: Recipe may be increased, but use less water proportionally.

For 2 apples, add 1.5 tsp. water
For 3 apples, add 2 tsp. water
For 4 apples, add 1 Tbsp. water
