Double Chocolate Brownies

These are moist, chocolate, rich and easy to make brownies
from Nestle's - - the chocolate people.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 - 12 oz pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt, set aside. In
a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water; heat just to a boil. Remove
from heat and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips and the vanilla.
Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Add eggs, one at a time,
beating well after each addition. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in
remaining chips and nuts. Spread in a greased 9" square pan. Bake 30-35
minutes or until brownies test done. Cool completely and cut into squares.
Recipe may be doubled and baked in a 9"x13" pan, resulting in a
thicker brownie. Bake 35-45 minutes.
If desired, dust cooled brownies with powdered sugar. These bars freeze beautifully!
Makes 16 - 2.25" squares
