Custom Group Classes
Out of the office…and into the
kitchen!
About Us
Cook up some fun for your next group meeting!
Let us design a cooking class (hands-on or demonstration)
for your organization. We can accommodate as few as 12 and
as many as 32 participants.
Dorothy Lane Market’s School of Cooking, established
in 1983, is a nationally recognized avocational cooking school.
We teach essential culinary skills for home cooks –
from the novice to the seasoned cook. We focus on whole food
cooking and highlight cuisines from far and near. Above all,
we inspire creativity in the kitchen and bring fun to the
cooking experience.
Great Value
Great Instruction from Knowledgeable
Instructors
Our instructors are selected for their knowledge and passion
for culinary arts; they are personable people who love to
engage their audiences.
Hands-On Opportunities
In our smaller classes, there is plenty of opportunity for
hands-on participation. In classes such as Pie Pastry 101,
Sushi Basics, and Hands-on Pasta, each class is almost entirely
three hours of hands-on time.
Taste the Food!
In all of our classes students taste the food made in class.
We serve generous samples, for example, 3-4 oz of protein.
Taste the Wine!
In some classes wine is paired with the menu – these
2 oz tasting pours help to educate your palate and teach you
about pairing wine and food.
Recipe Packets
A recipe packet for all recipes featured in the class will
be yours to take notes on and to take home.
10% off Cook’s Nook
On the day of a class, enjoy 10% off all kitchen essentials
in our Cook’s Nook, including All-Clad Cookware and
J. A. Henckels Knives.
Custom Classes
Here’s a sampling of a few popular classes.
We can provide many more menus to find the right fit for you.
Pie Pastry 101 (hands-on)
The basics of making tender, flaky pie pastry and how to mix,
roll, and bake a perfect all-butter pie crust. Each student
makes and takes home a ready-to-bake apple pie. Works well
as a reward, incentive, or a teambuilding event for small
groups.
Soup Party! (demonstration)
Stir up some fun at a casual party perfect for entertaining.
Our do-ahead menu is planned around three great soups with
an array of delicious toppings, salad, and dessert. Works
well for celebrations.
Lunch & Learn
Lunch is ready when you arrive, so sit back and relax as our
instructor demonstrates the lunch class menu. Works well for
seminars, retreats, and corporate outings.
