Getting to Know Our Cake Decorators

This month I celebrate my 17th year at DLM, with the past

15 having been spent with Cakes by DLM. Before joining

this incredible company, I graduated from the Pennsylvania

Culinary Institute and worked at the Westin Resort on

Hilton Head Island under the guidance of a Master Pastry

Chef. Over the years, DLM has helped me continue my

education through classes and workshops on advanced

decorating techniques. Thanks to this extra training, a

few years ago I won third place in a regional decorating


I owe my love of baking and decorating to my mother and

grandmother, and was fortunate enough to inherit their

talent and creativity. My favorite cakes to decorate are

baby and bridal shower themes, but I also enjoy creating

wedding, special occasion, and birthday cakes. I love

challenging cakes and welcome everything from highly

detailed designs to off-the-wall ideas like the zombie head I recently made. The highlight of my day is seeing the smile on a child’s face when they see their custom birthday cake.

In my spare time, I enjoy photography, watching Food

, skydiving (last summer I recited the DLM Mission Statement during a dive), and spending time with my four-year-old niece. I’m very thankful to have found a home at such a wonderful company. My coworkers are my extended family and I look forward to seeing them every day.
