Clambake

October means three things to me: fall, football, and shellfish! If youíre anything like me, you enjoy sharing a Sunday afternoon this time of year with family and friends rooting for your favorite team while enjoying local craft beer and good food. When it comes to the food, youíre probably thinking about wings, brats, and nachos, but we have something else in mind. Our idea of a perfect meal to help cheer your team to victory (if youíre a Bengals fan), or console after a loss (if youíre a Browns fan) is a traditional New England Clambake!

For the uninitiated, let me explain. We fill a 5-gallon bucket with potatoes, fresh corn, carrots, celery, onion, andouille sausage, clams, mussels, shrimp, and top it off with seaweed. When you pick your Clambake up from the Seafood department, itíll be prepped and ready to cook. The only thing you need is a flame (grill, fire, or stove top burner), 10 friends, and hearty appetites. Once on the burner, it will take about 30-45 minutes to steam and another 12 minutes of cooking time. When itís ready, spread everything out on a covered table and serve with loaves of San Francisco Sourdough, perfect for tearing and sopping up all the tasty juices. This could be the start of a new fall tradition for you and your family! Reserve your Clambake Bucket at our Seafood department or click here.
