1. Sublime Succulents

People often think of fresh flower bouquets when it comes to Mother’s Day, which is a great option, but we’ve got a better one. Succulents. They’ll make an amazing impression and will hang around for the long haul—think well into summer and even fall. This Mother’s Day—Sunday, May 8—we’ll have succulents galore displayed in some of the most stunning and creative ways. You’ll find them in wooden frames (square and rectangular), baskets, stone planters, and even in the very elegant and Mediterranean-looking clay strawberry pots. The best part? Succulents are easy to care for so you can give mom something nice that won’t be one more thing to worry about. Be cool—get mom a succulent.

2. Spend Time Together

It may sound cliché, but most mothers would give the world just to have more quality time with their kids (no matter the age). We often see family members who take cooking classes together at the DLM Culinary Center. Whether they are learning techniques for icing a cake, making pasta, or learning the art of sushi, any of our DLM Culinary Center classes can be a fun outing with mom.

3. Let the Kids Surprise Mom

One of our favorite events here is our Kids’ Club Mother’s Day Cake Decorating, Saturday, May 7. Send the special mom in your life out for a little pampering while you bring the little ones by your favorite DLM to decorate a cake for mom. The best part? You don’t have to worry about baking the cake or cleaning up the mess. We’ll have all of the essentials for the kids to get creative. The look on mom’s face when she sees what they’ve made will be priceless! Did we mention that the cake is delicious, too? Saturday, May 7 • $6 Each • Oakwood & Springboro 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. • Washington Square 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

4. Make Mom the Best Brunch Ever

DLM’s Chef Carrie always has something up her sleeve. And as a mom, she knows just how nice it is when her family goes out of their way to make her feel special. She’s pulled together some of her favorite brunch recipes from our trove to help you make mom’s day special. Meanwhile, DLM’s George Punter has pulled together recommendations for three wines that are great for brunching: Piper Sonoma Brut Rosé, Belleruche Rosé, and Paraiso Pinot Noir.
