Nothing says fresh to me like salsa! It’s full of such bright flavors and the promise of satisfaction.
This is why we let our culinary prowess go wild when dreaming up new salsas for our Produce department to make and carry that really shine. With each bite, I’m inspired with ideas for dinner, lunch, and even breakfast. Although it’s a natural fit on a tortilla chip, a good salsa is so much more. I see it as a sauce capable of elevating so many dishes in a very modern way. It’s healthier for you, too, because it’s not full of all that butter or cream, like most sauces.
We make our salsas right here with pride. With each dip, you’ll be able to taste those special touches we put into it. For instance, we love what roasting can do to salsa ingredients, like ripe tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, Serrano peppers, and tomatillos. We roast them at extremely high temps (well over 500°F) to get that smoky char plus a little concentrated sweetness.
You simply have to try our new sensational salsas, available in our Produce department. We’re just getting started, too, as the best produce of the season will be highlighted in the months to come.
If you love cilantro, let me introduce you to your new best friend! Roasted fresh tomatillos, jalapeños, garlic, and onion are blended for this very versatile salsa. I love this one over grilled chicken and served with Cilantro Lime Rice. Or, try it on tilapia with a squeeze of fresh lime!
Roasted Roma tomatoes and plenty of charred Serrano peppers flavor this salsa that’s packed with personality. It’s perfect for chip dipping or with homemade burritos. Or, try it with grilled skewered shrimp. But it really shines on a grilled hanger steak with some corn on the cob and a side of our DLM Garlic Bread. It’s the perfect backyard cookout sauce!
We’ve improved our recipe and can’t quite keep up with the demand! It’s a great all-around salsa perfect for scrambled eggs, fajitas, and with DLM White Corn Tortilla Chips. Try it on a Chicken Quesadilla, from our Grab ’N Go.
Cucumber Mango Salsa
Fresh, bright, and a combo of delicious textures makes this salsa a perfect dinner entrée topper. I love this one with grilled fish, like Mahi Mahi or halibut. It’s a stunning dip for blue corn chips.
Fresh ripe strawberries, jalapeños, cilantro, and a splash of lime combine to make this both a little sweet and a little spicy. It’s the perfect summer salsa! I like it served on both grilled pork tenderloin and chicken, but it really shines with sautéed trout or catfish! Or, try a dollop on top of our pre-sliced French Baguette smeared with a good Brie, like Belletoile.
