Good Wine from Great People

Wine is a crucial ingredient to a wonderful meal, and is made even better when sharing with friends and family. That person-to-person connection starts way before the wine lines the shelves at DLM. We build relationships with the great people behind the wine, like Douglas and Mary Danielak, who I first met in California in 2005. Then there’s Barbara and Bruce Neyers. It’s been my pleasure to share the love of wine with so many great winemakers, including the fine people representing the following delicious wines.

Juicy Rebound Red & White

These beautiful wines from Juicy Rebound Winery are made by Northern California winemakers Douglas and Mary Danielak. Douglas has made wine for some of Napa Valley’s most respected wineries. Having started his career in wine by completing the Professional Winemaking Program at the Lycée Agricole et Viticole de Beaune in Burgundy, he’s heavily influenced by all things French. Add this to his love of hockey, in which a player can get a ‛juicy rebound,’ and you get the building blocks to the story behind these fantastic wines.

Juicy Rebound Red

The Juicy Villages Rhône Blend is just that! A juicy Rhône-style blend with the punch of California and the charm of southern Rhône.

Juicy Rebound White

This is beautifully made and a real crowd-pleaser with notes of fresh apricots, jasmine, orange blossoms, honeysuckle, McIntosh apples, and pineapple.

Neyers 304 Chardonnay

Bruce and Barbara Neyers are two of the most humble and lovely people. They also are quite a pair of food and wine professionals—he runs his namesake’s winery in Napa Valley and is the director of sales for the highly vaunted French wine portfolio of Kermit Lynch Imports; and Barbara has been a longtime member of the Chez Panisse team! 304 is the industry designation of food grade stainless steel used in making this wine … zero oak! So bright and crisp, it pairs with everything from a plate of oysters to a crisp roast chicken.

Champalou Vouvray

We’ve tasted this Kermit Lynch imported wine many times with Bruce and find it simply stunning. From the Loire Valley, this Chenin Blanc is made by Catherine and Didier Champalou who farm their vineyard sustainably. Their highly aromatic vines show amazing elegance and are meant to be savored.

Proper Blue Cheese From England

Colston Bassett Stilton

From Neal’s Yard Dairy, the famous London Cheese Firm, this is an amazing cheese for the winter months that is an extremely versatile pairing with different foods, beer, Port, and wine! Unlike most Stiltons, the flavor is strong and lingers on your tongue without being sharp or overpowering. Even the rind is moist, and the inside is creamy throughout.
