Quite Possibly the Perfect Plant Gift

Our succulents, grown in Michigan and Ohio, are spectacular. They will be jaw-dropping this May, as we’ll have traditional strawberry pots, baskets, and frames — just in time for Mother’s Day.

The care of succulents couldn’t be easier, making it a gift anyone can appreciate. Simply water when dry and allow it to dry out before watering again. Succulents like bright light and will tolerate hot afternoon sun, but prefer a half-day of sun. Though not generally grown for flowers, many succulents bloom with exquisite, delicate blooms held high on thin, arching stems.

Succulents have thick, fleshy parts to store water, and plants have evolved to flourish in arid conditions. The range of forms and colors of succulents are truly astonishing. Many of the best succulents for decorative use have a typical “hens and chicks” form, a flattened rosette of fleshy foliage in an array of stunning earth-tone colors, making them a lovely addition to most décor.
