Local Produce Arriving Daily!

I remember starting my DLM career working in the Produce department at DLM Oakwood. Every summer, many local farmers brought in a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables they had grown at their family farm. Some of the faces never change. This spring I’ve had the pleasure of making visits to some of our local farmers that bring us fresh produce throughout the warm summer months. Ray Brentlinger was proud to show me the fields that he and his son farm growing sweet and beautiful GMO-free corn for DLM for over 30 years in Clark County.

Then I drove 30 minutes southeast and landed at Jon Branstrator’s farm in Clarksville where he was tending his asparagus and strawberry fields. Harvey Eicher and his family bring us tomatoes, peppers, summer squash, and many other veggies from a local Amish community of farmers. Next I drove just north of Columbus to visit Green Field Farms, another community of Amish farmers that are certified organic. These are just a few of the local farmers we are blessed with. A very cold winter and spring has our farmers about two weeks behind schedule this year, but everyone I met with are confident Mother Nature will be kind to them this summer.
