Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class
Series for Cancer Prevention and Survival
Presented by Robin Gentry McGee, CHHP
Wednesday, February 24 through Wednesday, March 17
Noon-1:30 p.m. • DLM School of Cooking

Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Class Series for Cancer Prevention and Survival is based on the extensive research of Neal Barnard, M.D., with a focus on preventing and surviving cancer through a plant-based diet. Dr. Barnard is the founder of The Cancer Project, which sponsors these classes as well as Physicians for Responsible Medicine. For more information, on these classes click here.

This four-week series will cover the following cancer-related nutrition topics:
Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer
Fueling Up on Low-Fat, High-Fiber Foods
Discovering Dairy and Meat Alternatives
Cancer-Fighting Compounds and Healthy Weight Control

Each class includes a nutrition video followed by a cooking demonstration and sampling of the food prepared. The videos will be the same as the last series of classes; however the food we will be sampling will be different. Classes are open to cancer survivors, friends, family, and anyone interested in cancer prevention and healthy eating.
Attendees will receive a loaner copy of The Cancer Survivor’s Guide, which has extensive nutrition information and 100 pages of recipes. These books will be available for use throughout the class series and then returned after the series has ended. We will also have these books available for purchase.
