A perfect dessert for Mother's Day is our May Strawberry Whipped Crème Cake. It is an 8-inch double torted white cake filled with a layer of decadent chocolate truffle filling, followed by a layer of fresh, ripe strawberries. We have been gearing up for outdoor cooking, and nothing goes better with your next backyard barbecue than our new Traditional Baked Beans. We simmer white Great Northern Beans slowly, the old-fashioned way, for a homemade taste. A touch of brown sugar and our very own smoked bacon bake up bubbly brown with a hint of sweetness. Great with any of our gourmet burgers or on your next weenie roast.

A Practical Approach to Going "Green"!
Everywhere you turn someone is giving the latest tips and tricks for living a healthy and "green" lifestyle. But with so many different reports, it's easy to experience an information overload and give up out of frustration. Luckily, Donna Walls, RN, herbalist and author, is coming to DLM to share with us practical ways to make our homes more healthy and natural. Even though "going green" is mainly concerned with improving the quality of the earth we live in, the benefits overflow into our families' personal health and wellbeing, by cutting out toxic chemicals that are in products we use every day. Donna will be giving her seminar Tuesday, May 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. in our Springboro Community Room. The cost is $10 and you can either sign up online at or by calling Kathy Stone at 937-748-6800. If you are unable to attend, be sure to pick up Donna's book "Natural Families - Healthy Homes" in our Healthy Living departments.
