Recipe of the Week:
California Chicken Salad
This is a wonderful recipe for chicken salad! It can be served on a bed of mixed salad greens or piled high on a croissant! Try it at your next bridal or baby shower.

New! Lemon Berry Cake
A moist, delicious white cake layered with Thursday Cottage Lemon Curd and a blackberry filling. Iced with pink buttercream and covered with coconut, this would look lovely as an Easter centerpiece.

Lemon Spring Fling Cake
Just in time for spring, this is a lemony ray of sunshine to wash away the winter blues! The base of this delicious cake is a torted layer of yellow cake filled with tart and tangy Thursday Cottage Lemon Curd from England. The finishing touch is a light, lemon-flavored buttercream icing made with fresh lemon juice. A perfect end to your Easter meal.

New! Island Gluten Free Bakery Products
This young company’s mission has always been to offer healthier, whole-grain gluten-free and wheat-free products. They do not skimp on ingredients! Whenever possible they use organic or all-natural ingredients and whole grains–not white rice. DLM is now carrying their gluten-free, wheat-free, and dairy-free soft Hamburger Buns, Multi Seed Sandwich Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and a Chocolate Brownie. All products are made and sealed in a dedicated gluten-free bakery in Sarasota, Florida. Customers can’t believe these products are gluten free because they taste too good! One customers remarks "First bite…I was in burger heaven. The bread was sweet–almost treat like…it was more like a nice gourmet hamburger bun you would find in an 'upscale' burger joint. Nicely done! Another 800 points because it didn't fall apart with the mustard on it! A lot of GF bread falls apart if it gets "wet" but this one held on and tasted fantastic!”

Pansies are one of the most popular and recognizable cool-weather annuals. Many pansies are bicolored, making them striking plants for their small size. They're a great choice for early and late season containers, and they complement spring flowering bulbs, flowering as the bulb foliage begins to fade. Take some home today and plant in a container to enjoy on your porch or patio!

In 1976, Bob and Sara Rothschild moved their family from the San Francisco Bay area to a 170-acre farm near Urbana, Ohio, to begin the family business of raising raspberries. They decided to make raspberry preserves with their excess berries. Soon the Robert Rothschild Farm line of specialty foods was flourishing. One of our favorite products is their new line of seafood sauces. Liven up any white fish, salmon, or grilled shrimp with the Creamy Cucumber Horseradish, Peppadew Pepper Cocktail, Peach Coconut Mango Habenero, or Onion Blossom Dill Horseradish Seafood Sauce!

Kathie’s Kitchen SuperSeedz
Kathie’s Kitchen SuperSeedz is a gourmet, all-natural, high-protein, low-carb pumpkin seed snack. Flavors include Sea Salt; Somewhat Spicy; and Cinnamon & Sugar. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of iron, zinc, magnesium, and copper. As stated on the label “no shells-no spitting required”. They are dry roasted and seasoned – great on salads, in soups, or right out of the bag. The Cinnamon & Sugar won an award as a dessert topping in Connecticut. Some potential health benefits of pumpkin seeds are: prostate protection; improved bladder function; prevention of osteoporosis; natural anti-inflammatory; prevention of kidney stones; treatment of parasites; lower cholesterol; and protection against many cancers. It would be a nice addition to an Easter basket.

Food Safety Tip

It’s spring, and eggs are especially important for many activities–like the big Easter egg hunt! Wash hands with warm water and soap before and after handling eggs.
