Melt Away the Pounds with Sauerkraut!
Many people don't eat sauerkraut very often, but it's surprisingly healthy and versatile. It's low in saturated fat and very low in cholesterol. It's also a good source of calcium and magnesium, and a very good source of fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, folate, iron, potassium, and copper. It can serve as a pizza topping, a low-calorie side dish, or part of a salad or soup. Whip up Pork and Sauerkraut for a traditional New Year's celebration. Prosit Neujahr 2010!

Ahi Poke Tray
Pronounced (po-keh), "poke" means to slice or cube. A great appetizer or snack, consisting of tuna cubes cut into bite-sized chunks and cured with Hawaiian sea salts, seaweed, and sesame oil. Serve with wasabi aïoli, Jack’s Grill Honey Ginger Teriyaki Sauce, or your favorite dipping mustards or marinades. A great heart-healthy appetizer! Gelukkige nuwe jaar 2010!

Champagne Cheers in the New Year!
Let DLM's friendly and knowledgeable Wine staff help you choose the right Champagne for your New Year's celebration. Check out our favorites in the December Market Report. Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut and Blanc de Noirs are two Columbia River Valley (Washington) sparkling wines which are really nice values. Both are dry, with the Brut delivering an abundance of apple fruit and a crisp finish. The Blanc de Noirs exhibits delightful spicy characteristics of ripe raspberry and strawberry aromas and flavors.

There’s Still Time to Donate Food
We hope you will join us in purchasing a DLM Good Neighbor Sack which will help feed the hungry this winter. Each sack contains non-perishable food items recommended by our local food bank. We have done the shopping for you and assembled the sacks, ready for purchase and donation. A cashier will ring up the sack and place it in the food bank collection bin in the front of the store. Antica Dolceria Bonajuto Chocolate
This is an amazing chocolate from Sicily, by far the most "rustic" we offer. It's traditionally produced at low temperature to preserve intense cacao flavor, which results in a meringue-like texture with the sugar in crystallized form.
