Holiday Centerpiece Class
Have you ever wanted to create you own designer centerpiece for your holiday table? Now's your chance to learn from DLM's floral designers how to create a memorable Thanksgiving Day piece. This class will be Saturday, November 21 at 10 or 11 a.m. at the Washington Square School of Cooking. The cost of $35 includes a cornucopia, foam, greenery, and flowers. Seating is limited, so please register early at www.dorothylane.com, or by calling the Floral Department at 434-1294.

Scented Pinecones
These pinecones are scented with the same fragrant oils used in potpourri. Over time the scent will begin to diminish, and then we suggest the cones be tossed into the fireplace, where the burning will release more scent. If all the cones are not used at once, the unused portion will retain its scent if kept in a tightly closed bag.

A Trip to Belgium
Belgium is known for its beer, chocolate, and unbelievable cuisine. Since the country is divided almost in half into both French and Flemish communes (territories/regions) with a few German pockets, it receives a great deal of culinary influences that make for unique and rich culinary traditions. While it is true that you will see Gaufres Chaudes (warm waffle) stands on virtually every corner, it is only one of hundreds of incredible culinary treats that Belgium has to offer. Moules Frites - the Belgian national dish, mussels and fries served with the traditional accompaniment of homemade mayonnaise; Mesclun aux Timbales de Chèvre - mesclun salad with goat cheese timbale; Chicken with Bacon Lardons and Caramelized Pearl Onions Braised in Kriek Beer; Endive et Jambon au Gratin - Belgian endive and ham gratin; and Belgian Chocolate Tart. Chef Jenn DiSanto and Giri Dodballapur Thursday, November 12 6-9 p.m. $65.00
