King Salmon are Confused

The King Salmon or Chinook Salmon is also known in Alaska as the Spring Salmon, because they have traditionally been the first species of salmon to start up the rivers of their birth to spawn, after spending years at sea fattening up for the party. They may have to change that name if the King Salmon keep showing up the way they have been this year. Most years the King run is over by late June, and almost non-existent by August, but this year they seem to be getting a “second wind”, and we are seeing some really nice fish coming from the Lower Cook Inlet. Blame it on global warming or El Niño, or just the abnormally warm weather the Pacific Northwest and Alaska have had this summer, but I am calling it DINNER! Daily deliveries of this wonderful King Salmon arriving through the weekend! Fresh - never frozen - and just hours out of the net! Taste the difference this weekend!
