
Recipe of the Week: Asparagus Gaucamole
One of the very first spring messengers of the garden is the perennial asparagus spear. Not only is asparagus a culinary delight, it is also a nutritional winner. In this recipe we used locally grown asparagus, DLM Texas Joe's Salsa, and served it with our new organic DLM Multigrain Tortilla Chips.

Food and Wellness “Myths” Presented by Lori Kelch, M.S., HNU
Lori will be discussing the benefits of eating “real food” and many of the misleading recommendations we receive from so called nutritional “experts.” Some of the topics Lori will cover include the myths of artificial sweeteners in weight loss, the role of “bad” cholesterol in heart disease, and the misleading myth that we should all be eating calcium-fortified foods. Whether you are going to a vacation home, having special guests come for a visit, or bringing a dish for a party or a picnic, these tips will help you to make entertaining a breeze. Join Chef Jenn DiSanto as she shows you some secret tips and ideas to make the most of your summer get-togethers with the least amount of work. The menu includes: Roasted Vegetable and Goat Cheese Terrine – This incredible terrine looks great, tastes great, and is perfect because you make it ahead. A salad of Grilled Pears with Spiced Pecans and Mixed Baby Greens; Spiedinis of Chicken, Lamb, and Beef that has been marinated and then grilled – served with a creamy yogurt cucumber dip; Grilled Vegetable Medley with a drizzle of fresh herb and lemon zest purée; Dessert of Flan (South American caramel custard) with mixed berries.
